Jones won the NCAA Indoor Hurdles contest in the years 2003 as well as in 2004. Jones completed her studies in 2005, began to train hard for track. She was the winner of both her events, the Torino Memorial and the Heusden Track events that same year.

Brandt moved to Cape Town South Africa to Auckland New Zealand at the close of her teen years.
